Stay Safe While Meeting New People
Meeting new people can be exciting, but always exercise caution when interacting with someone unfamiliar. Trust your instincts and prioritise your safety, whether you're exchanging messages online or meeting in person. Although you can't control others' actions, here are some steps you can take to stay safe during your online dating experience:
Online Safety
Never Send Money or Share Financial Information: Never send money, particularly via wire transfer, even if the person claims to be in an emergency. Wiring money is like sending cash—it's almost impossible to reverse or trace. Also, never share any information that could give access to your financial accounts. If another user asks for money, report it to us immediately.
Protect Your Personal Information
Keep Your Personal Details Private: Never share sensitive personal information, such as your social security number, home or work address, or details about your daily routine (like visiting a specific gym every Monday) with someone you don’t know well. If you’re a parent, be cautious about the information you share regarding your children in your profile and during early communications. Avoid disclosing details such as their names, school, ages, or genders.
Stay on the Platform
Use Our Messaging System: Keep your conversations within our platform while getting to know your match. Our Safe Message Filters are designed to protect you; users with bad intentions often attempt to move the conversation to text, messaging apps, email, or phone to bypass these safety measures.
Be Cautious with Long-Distance and Overseas Relationships
Watch for Red Flags: Non-genuine users may claim to be from your country but are stuck somewhere else and ask for financial help to return home. Be wary of anyone who avoids meeting in person or refuses to talk on a phone or video call—they may not be who they say they are. If someone dodges your questions or pushes for a serious relationship without proper communication, consider it a red flag.
Report Suspicious and Offensive Behaviour
We trust your instincts—if something feels off, it probably is. Your safety is our priority, and we want to hear about any behaviour that violates our terms. Here’s what to watch out for and report:
Examples of Violations
- Requests for Money or Donations: Never send money to anyone you meet on our platform. Report any requests immediately.
- Underage Users: Our platform is for adults over 18 only. Report any profiles you suspect are underage.
- Harassment, Threats, and Offensive Messages: Any form of harassment, threats, or offensive messages should be reported.
- Inappropriate or Harmful Behaviour: If someone behaves inappropriately or harmfully during or after a meeting, report it.
- Fraudulent Profiles: Report any profiles you believe to be fake or fraudulent.
- Spam or Solicitation: This includes links to commercial websites or attempts to sell products or services.
If you ever come across another member who is behaving inappropriately or violating our community guidelines, we want to make sure you know how to block their profile and report them to us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Here are the step-by-step instructions to block & report a member:
1. Navigate to the profile of the member you wish to report.
2. Click on the three dots located in the top right corner of their profile photo.
3. Choose the option to block & report the member.
To assist the safety team's investigation, please provide specific details about your interactions with the member you're reporting. This includes any instances of behaviour that you believe violated our community guidelines. The safety team will thoroughly review your report and take appropriate action.
Admin Profiles
To help our members easily recognise official staff or admin profiles on our platform, we’ve implemented clear visual indicators. All staff profiles feature a badge labelled "SITE ADMIN" in the bottom left corner of their profile picture. Every staff member's username also begins with the prefix "SiteAdmin"—for example, SiteAdminScarlett. These identifiers ensure transparency and help you distinguish genuine team members from regular users. If you’re ever unsure about a profile, look for these markers to confirm it's a verified member of our support or moderation team.

User Rating
A user's rating can be a useful indicator for that profile and the user. A user's rating can be a maximum of 5, 5 being the best. The lower the user rating, the more cautious you should be. A user's rating is based on many things, including reports made against the profile, Messaging habits and the number of times the user has been blocked.
